• Method

  1. Mix the oatmeal, flour and suet together, then add the salt, pepper and herbs and approximately 5 tablespoons for water to make a soft dough.
  2. Shape into balls using lightly floured hands. This quantity should make 8 large dumplings, or 16 small dumplings.
  3. Pop the dumplings on the top of your stew or casserole, put the lid on and cook for 20-30 minutes, depending on size, until fluffy.
